Well, this is an example of, perhaps "familiarity breeds contempt", or maybe of "The grass is always greener".
For someone in the UK, walking across the Severn river on a bridge probably sounds prosaic and every day...and walking across a mountain pass in Central America probably sounds like a thrilling adventure.
But for me---I just walked across a boring highway for an hour that had things like gas stations and tire change places on either side. To me, it just felt like a boring old walk. And I just looked at those beautiful cable bridges across the Severn, and to me, that seemed like an adventure!
